Another batch of apparently premature Sonic the Hedgehog 4 toy listings has surfaced, and one of them is considerably stranger than your usual Sonic figure.
Screenshots reportedly taken from UK retailer B&M’s internal system include an item abbreviated as “Sonic 2.5″ Fig + Dino”, priced at £24.99. The listings were reportedly first shared by Steven Edwards in the Sonic the Hedgehog Collectors Facebook group before being circulated more widely by The Sonic Scoop on Twitter.
The same batch also includes a Sonic Movie 5-inch figure with vehicle for £19.99, a standard 5-inch figure for £12.99, a 1.5-inch six-pack for £12.99 and a 7-inch plush for £6.99. None of those names reveal much on their own. “Dino,” however, is a little harder to ignore.
What exactly “Dino” means is completely unknown. It could refer to a dinosaur, a character or accessory using an abbreviated internal name, or something else entirely. There are no product images or descriptions establishing what the set contains, so there is currently no basis for calling a dinosaur appearance in the movie confirmed.
That has not stopped the listing from attracting attention because Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has already been surrounded by time-travel and multiverse rumors. Sonic City previously covered a report from Daniel Richtman claiming the movie involves one of those concepts, although he reportedly could not determine which. The same report claimed Shadow would appear in a knight-like role wielding Arondight. None of that has been confirmed by Paramount or SEGA.
A dinosaur would obviously fit very neatly with a time-travel story, but one abbreviated retailer entry is nowhere near enough to make that leap. At most, “Sonic + Dino” gives fans another strange piece to place beside the movie’s growing pile of unconfirmed clues.
The B&M entries also follow another set of premature JAKKS Pacific listings that appeared through Smyths Toys in August before being removed. Those included figures for Sonic, Amy, Metal Sonic and Shadow, alongside the mysterious “Neo San Fran” multipack that also prompted speculation about an altered or future version of San Francisco.
There is at least solid official reason to expect plenty of Sonic 4 toys to begin appearing in retailer systems. SEGA and JAKKS Pacific announced a multi-year merchandising agreement for the movie in March, covering action figures, plush, playsets, role-play products, costumes and accessories, with the range scheduled to reach stores in early 2027. That official agreement makes retailer listings like these plausible, but it does not authenticate this particular B&M screenshot or explain what “Dino” represents.
For now, the only safe conclusion is that another apparent Sonic the Hedgehog 4 merchandise listing has surfaced with a very unusual name. Whether Sonic is actually about to spend part of his fourth movie running away from dinosaurs is another matter entirely.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on March 19, 2027.
