Sonic and Shadow are starring in a new stop-motion animation featuring their adorable SEGA Cooro plush counterparts, kicking off four consecutive weeks of new animated shorts celebrating the opening of SEGA STORE OSAKA!
The first animation was released today, bringing the two hedgehogs together in their small, round plush forms. SEGA has confirmed that a new Cooro animation will be released each week over the four-week campaign, although the characters appearing in the remaining installments have yet to be revealed.
Fans will also get a look at how the animations are made, with SEGA confirming that behind-the-scenes videos will be shared through Komadori Club, the stop-motion project associated with the Cooro animations.
This isn’t the first time SEGA has brought its plush characters to life through stop-motion. Earlier in 2026, the company released a series of Cooro animated shorts, including Sonic-focused animations produced with dwarf studios and Komadori Club.
The new campaign celebrates the opening of SEGA STORE OSAKA, which welcomed its first visitors on October 2 on the sixth floor of Shinsaibashi PARCO. The flagship store carries Sonic merchandise alongside products from other SEGA and ATLUS franchises, including the SEGA Cooro plush collection.
With Sonic and Shadow leading the first installment, there are still three more weeks of Cooro animations to look forward to. SEGA hasn’t revealed which characters will appear next, but the new shorts will continue the store-opening celebrations throughout October.
