SEGA Fave, the new company formed by merging SEGA’s amusement machine and toy divisions, will release Japan-exclusive “SONIC & FRIENDS” merchandise starting from April 26, 2024! This collection includes plush toys, pouches, acrylic stands, and more!

In this collection, Sonic and his friends are dressed as Sengoku-era warriors, available in limited quantities. The designs incorporate traditional Japanese patterns and colors, adding a touch of Japanese heritage to each piece.

Over 50 items are included in this incredibly cute collection! While the US has typically led in Sonic merch, this collection will be exclusive to Japan this time around.

A total of 57 items, including plush toys featuring characters like Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, and Dr. Eggman from the “SONIC & FRIENDS” TikTok animations, along with cute “Face Pouches” featuring Sonic’s face, ideal for carrying around, and “Acrylic Stands” perfect for collecting and displaying or taking on outings, will be released as part of a lineup of 12 different types of goods exclusively in Japan.

Among the Japan-exclusive “SONIC & FRIENDS” goods being released this time, four items feature Sonic characters inspired by warlords from the Sengoku period, marking a world first in Sonic history. Sonic is dressed in a haori and hakama, Amy wears a uchikake, Tails dons a kosode with a shoulder robe, while Knuckles and Dr. Eggman’s costumes are inspired by jinbaori. Each item features a different background design incorporating patterns with specific meanings unique to Japan, using subdued traditional colors adorned with patterns of cherry blossoms and chrysanthemums, representing Japan. The cloisonné pattern symbolizes “harmony,” the checkerboard pattern symbolizes “prosperity,” and the arrow feather pattern symbolizes “warding off misfortune,” imbuing each item with wishes of commemoration for visitors to Japan. These limited edition goods are crafted to be cherished not only by Sonic fans but also by travelers visiting Japan from overseas. The “Sengoku Sonic Series,” featuring unique Sengoku warlord motifs, will be launched as a Japan-exclusive and limited quantity collection comprising 4 types and 19 items.
