Sonic Dream Team is finally making its way beyond Apple hardware, at least through an unofficial fan project! Community developer Beatz has released Project Dream, a compatibility tool designed to bring SEGA HARDlight’s Apple Arcade platformer to Windows PCs and Android devices using files from the original Mac version.
The project surfaced on October 28, with Beatz sharing the release through their X account and a dedicated GitLab repository. Rather than providing a complete copy of the game, Project Dream requires users to supply their own Mac game files.
According to the project’s published technical description, the tool works with the original Mac game’s Unity IL2CPP code. On Windows, it loads the macOS GameAssembly.dylib library and provides replacements for the system functions the game expects, allowing it to run through the Windows Unity player without recompiling the original game code.
There’s more to it than getting the game running, too. Project Dream adds graphics and accessibility settings, an achievement tracker and gameplay adjustments. Its Windows implementation also supports MelonLoader, opening the door to additional community-made modifications.

The graphics system supports DirectX 11 and Vulkan on Windows, with OpenGL ES and Vulkan on Android. Beatz’s installation instructions identify Sonic Dream Team version 1.10.1 for Mac as the build tested with Project Dream.
Beatz has stated that Project Dream was developed without generative AI, distinguishing it from a separate AI-assisted Android port that recently circulated online. The developer has also explained their decision not to publish the source code, citing concerns about AI scraping.
Dream Team itself remains available through Apple Arcade. Project Dream is an unofficial community effort, not a new SEGA release, and access to the original Mac game files remains a requirement.
