SEGA has announced new merchandise for SONIC & FRIENDS, including more items from its Sanrio Characters collaboration and new additions to the SONIC & FRIENDS mascot lineup.
The latest SONIC & FRIENDS x Sanrio Characters release introduces Fluffy Figures in Enjoy and Relax versions. These collectible figures feature Sonic and friends dressed in kigurumi outfits inspired by popular Sanrio characters, with playful poses and a soft flocked finish on the costume sections.
Each Fluffy Figure lineup includes five standard designs plus one secret figure. The character pairings are Sonic x Hello Kitty, Tails x Cinnamoroll, Knuckles x Kuromi, Amy x My Melody, Dr. Eggman x Pompompurin, and Shadow x Hangyodon as the secret design.
Each figure is priced at 1,870 yen including tax, while a full box is priced at 11,220 yen including tax. Each purchase includes the figure itself, a base, and a collection card. Individual boxes will contain one random figure, while unopened box purchases will include the full set.
SEGA has also announced three new additions to the SONIC & FRIENDS mascot series. Chao, Silver, and Rouge are joining the lineup as ball-chain mascots that can be attached to bags, pouches, or other everyday items. The Chao mascot is priced at 1,540 yen including tax, while Silver and Rouge are each priced at 1,980 yen including tax.
The first wave of SONIC & FRIENDS x Sanrio Characters collaboration goods, currently available for pre-order through SEGA Store Online, will also begin general sales on Friday, July 17. That lineup includes acrylic figure collections, mini shoulder bags, pouches, and die-cut hand towels.
The acrylic figure collection features six designs: Sonic x Hello Kitty, Tails x Cinnamoroll, Knuckles x Kuromi, Amy x My Melody, Shadow x Hangyodon, and Dr. Eggman x Pompompurin. Single packs are priced at 880 yen including tax, while a full box is priced at 5,280 yen including tax.
The mini shoulder bags will be available in Sonic x Hello Kitty and Shadow x Hangyodon designs for 4,180 yen each. Matching pouches will also be available in the same two designs for 3,630 yen each.
The die-cut hand towel lineup includes all six character pairings from the acrylic figure collection, with each towel priced at 1,650 yen including tax.
SONIC & FRIENDS began in August 2023 as a short-form animation series on TikTok, featuring Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, and Dr. Eggman in a cute and expressive style. The series has since expanded into merchandise, collaborations, and character goods, with the Sanrio Characters crossover continuing that softer, charm-focused direction.
With new fuzzy figures, more mascot characters, and the first collaboration goods moving toward general release, SONIC & FRIENDS fans will have plenty to look out for this July.
