Colleen O’Shaughnessey has shared a small update on her work for Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
During Anime Arizona Spring’s Gotta Go Fast panel with Jason Griffith, which took place on May 10, O’Shaughnessey said she would begin recording voice lines for Tails in around two weeks. With the panel taking place earlier this month, that would place her expected recording start around next week.
O’Shaughnessey has voiced Tails across the Sonic the Hedgehog movie series since the character’s full debut in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. She returned for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and is set to reprise the role again in Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
The update comes shortly after director Jeff Fowler confirmed that filming had wrapped on Sonic the Hedgehog 4, sharing a new behind-the-scenes look at Metal Sonic. While the live-action portion of production is complete, the film still has a major post-production process ahead, including animation, visual effects, and voice work for its CG characters.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is currently scheduled to release in theaters on March 19, 2027. The film is expected to continue the story teased at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which introduced Amy Rose and Metal Sonic as major new additions to the movie universe.
