Sonic Rumble Party is preparing its next major update, with the development team outlining several changes planned for version 1.6.0.
In a new developer letter, the Sonic Rumble Party team thanked players for their continued feedback and shared a preview of adjustments designed to make the game more rewarding and easier to stick with over time.
One of the main changes involves Movement Skills. Select character and non-character Movement Skills will receive speed increases, with the goal of making skill usage feel more rewarding and giving players a faster sense of movement when used correctly.
The adjusted Movement Skills include Bomb Dash, Yellow Drill, Unstoppable Dash, Cyclone Dash, Baseball Slide, Race Car, Air Dash, Dodge Roll, Somersault, Skateboard Slide, Finders Keepers, Tail Copter, Card Spin Boost, Doom Wing Dash, Doom Wing Glide, Booster Dash, Bunny Hop, Bunny Blastoff, Levitation, Ninja Dash, Abuzzed with Energy, Phantom Dash, and Chao Chase.
Special Rumble “Hyper Boost Battle” is also returning. The mode, which increases movement speed during matches, will return for its first round from May 25 at 10:00 UTC through May 29 at 10:00 UTC. Going forward, Hyper Boost Battle is planned to be available every week during weekdays.

The update will also adjust the amount of Skin Fragments players can obtain during each season. The team says the goal is to make enough seasonal fragments available for players to complete Fragment Skins through daily play.
To support that, certain skins in Daily Claw Machines will offer more fragments, weekly missions tied to Hyper Boost Battle will include Skin Fragments, and additional Skin Fragment purchases will be available daily in the Ring Shop.
A new seasonal completion reward is also being added. Players who obtain every Seasonal Fragment Skin during a season will be able to unlock that season’s “AI Racer” skin. The AI Racer skin will change each season.
Party Rumble is also being expanded. The mode, which was added in version 1.5.0, will become selectable when creating a Custom Room, giving players more control over private matches.

The team also acknowledged player feedback surrounding matchmaking and Squad mode. While no specific changes have been confirmed yet, the developers said they are continuing to discuss possible adjustments and will share more once concrete details are ready.
Sonic Rumble Party version 1.6.0 is described as coming “very very soon,” with the team saying it will continue taking player feedback into account for future updates.
