Sonic and his friends have been turned into plush-headed action figures! SEGA Fave’s new collectible toy range, BLOFFFu, is now available in Japan, bringing six familiar faces from SONIC & FRIENDS into a rather unusual new format.
Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Dr. Eggman are all part of the lineup, with each toy combining an oversized, soft plush head with a hard molded body. The figures also come with character-specific accessories, while certain sizes can be posed and displayed in different ways.
The range was originally announced by SEGA Fave on September 16, although the Sonic figures actually got a head start on the rest of the collection. They first went on sale at SEGA STORE TOKYO and SEGA STORE OSAKA on October 2, ahead of the wider Japanese launch on October 16.
BLOFFFu comes in three sizes, starting with the palm-sized BIT figures, which measure approximately 8 cm tall and cost ¥2,420. These smaller versions can be carried around or displayed using the included PERCH accessory. The larger MOD figures measure around 16 cm and cost ¥3,980, with movable bodies for posing, while the biggest DEKA versions stand approximately 32 cm tall and are priced at ¥8,980.
Those are the advertised prices across the licensed collection, with available sizes varying depending on the character.
The Sonic gang are joined by plenty of other characters in the wider BLOFFFu range, including familiar faces from Sanrio, Disney, Pixar and Marvel. There are 36 character designs across 59 products in total, although SEGA Fave says production quantities will be limited during the first year.
Fans can purchase the toys through the official BLOFFFu online store, which carries the collection and its available size options.
There’s also a special launch pop-up at MIYASHITA PARK in Shibuya, Tokyo, running from October 16 through November 1. The shop is located at THE [ ] STORE on the second floor of the North building and opens daily from 11 AM to 9 PM JST.
Visitors who spend at least ¥4,840 can receive a limited BLOFFFu novelty strap while supplies last. The same promotion is also being offered at SEGA STORE TOKYO and SEGA STORE OSAKA.
If you’re looking to add one of these unusual little Sonic figures to your collection, the new range is already on sale through the BLOFFFu website.
