Sonic Roll PLUS Board Game Sequel Surfaces With Fang, Bean, Bark and Trip

Sonic Roll is getting another round.

A new board game titled Sonic Roll PLUS has surfaced through retailer listings, with BigBadToyStore now taking preorders for what Kess Entertainment describes as an “expand-alone sequel” to its 2024 push-your-luck dice game. The listing puts the game at $34.99 MSRP, currently discounted to $30.99, with an estimated arrival in October 2026.

The box art immediately sets PLUS apart from the original. Fang the Hunter, Bean the Dynamite, Bark the Polar Bear and Trip the Sungazer all appear alongside Sonic and Tails, giving the sequel a character lineup pulled heavily from the classic side of the series.

Designer Anthony Thorp returns for the new game, while the box credits Tracy Yardley for its cover illustration. BigBadToyStore also identifies Sonic Roll PLUS as an officially licensed Sega of America product.

Kess is calling it an “expand-alone sequel,” a deliberately odd little phrase that suggests PLUS is being positioned as more than a simple add-on to the first Sonic Roll. The retailer description says it retains the original game’s dice-rolling, push-your-luck approach, sending players through Sonic-inspired zones filled with obstacles and rewards.

Another retailer catalog gives the game the manufacturer number KES3206 and lists it for 1-4 players, ages 14 and up, with an expected playtime of 30-60 minutes. Noble Knight Games also lists Anthony Thorp as the designer and a 2026 publication year.

There is one small wrinkle in the early retailer information. BigBadToyStore’s written description also says the game supports 1-4 players, but its separate product-features section currently lists 1-2 players. Noble Knight uses 1-4, so we would treat the final player count as something Kess still needs to clear up rather than picking whichever number happens to be convenient.

The original Sonic Roll already gave Kess plenty of room to keep building on the tabletop concept. Sonic City previously covered its Gen Con 2025 custom-character expansion, which let players create their own racer using preset abilities.

PLUS now looks like the next full release rather than another small promotional addition. Fang, Bean and Bark are especially fun choices for a tabletop sequel after spending years as some of the more elusive members of Sonic’s classic cast, while Trip gives the box a much more recent face from Sonic Superstars.

BigBadToyStore currently estimates October 2026 for arrival, although that is still a retailer estimate rather than a firm date announced directly by Kess. Noble Knight, meanwhile, leaves the release date as TBD.
