TJ Davis is taking on one of Sonic Frontiers’ biggest songs.
The singer behind several of Sonic R’s vocal tracks has released her cover of “Undefeatable,” the battle theme originally performed by Kellin Quinn for Sonic Frontiers.
The new recording is the latest release from New Frontiers: The Return of a Super Sonic Voice, Davis’ ongoing project built around new interpretations of music from Sonic Frontiers. The EP consists of four covers from the game alongside an original song.
“Undefeatable” follows Davis’ previously released versions of “I’m Here,” “One Way Dream,” and “I’m With You,” as well as “Half of Me,” an original duet with Kayley James. Together, the five tracks make up the New Frontiers project.
For her version of “Undefeatable,” Davis handled the arrangement alongside Mark Boden, with Richard Taylor producing and mixing the track and Paul Cuddeford handling recording.
The original “Undefeatable” was composed by Tomoya Ohtani and features vocals from Kellin Quinn. In Sonic Frontiers, the song accompanies Sonic’s battle against Giganto, helping establish the Titan fights as some of the game’s most musically memorable moments.
For Davis, New Frontiers represents a return to Sonic music nearly three decades after Sonic R.
Her work on the 1997 Saturn game included vocals on several of its best-known tracks, and the new project has given her the chance to approach a very different era of Sonic music through her own arrangements. The Kickstarter describes the EP as a collection of reimagined Sonic Frontiers songs alongside a new original composition.
The project has also already crossed its crowdfunding target. As of August 14, Kickstarter lists New Frontiers at 115% funded, with the campaign scheduled to close on August 16, 2026.

From the bright dance-pop sound of Sonic R to one of Sonic Frontiers’ heaviest boss themes, it is quite the jump across Sonic’s musical history.
Twenty-nine years later, TJ Davis is still finding new Sonic songs to make her own.
