Sonic’s Chaos Hunt is making its next stop in New York City, bringing the Blue Chaos Emerald, Sonic and Shadow, and a brand-new exclusive comic book along for the ride.

The latest Emerald drop will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET at The High Line in Manhattan.

Fans can find the activation near Gansevoort Plaza at 820 Washington Street, where Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog will be available throughout the day for photos and meet-and-greets.

The New York event continues SEGA’s nationwide Sonic’s Chaos Hunt campaign and appears to mark the sixth physical Emerald drop following the Cyan Emerald activation held in Chicago earlier this month.

That stop was particularly notable for marking Shadow the Hedgehog’s first official live appearance in the United States. Now, the Ultimate Life Form is sticking around for another round alongside Sonic in New York.

As with previous Chaos Hunt activations, fans who arrive early will have a chance to pick up several limited collectibles.

The first 100 attendees will receive a free Chaos Hunt shirt, while the first 250 will receive an exclusive enamel pin featuring Sonic alongside the Blue Chaos Emerald.

SEGA says special prizes will be available for the first 300 fans overall.

There is also one particularly interesting addition this time around.

Attendees will be among the first to receive a new and exclusive Sonic collaboration comic book.

No further information about the comic has been revealed yet, including its creative team, collaborating partner, story, or wider availability. The announcement also does not specify how many copies will be distributed at the event, so for now, the mysterious new comic remains one of the biggest reasons for collectors to keep an eye on the New York stop.

Visitors will also be able to scan a QR code at the activation and digitally collect the Blue Emerald on their phones.

Doing so gives participants another chance to enter the campaign’s grand prize drawing for an all-expenses-paid trip to Club Chaos, the major Sonic 35th anniversary celebration taking place in New York City on Friday, October 9.

Sonic City has been following the Chaos Hunt since SEGA first launched the nationwide campaign earlier this summer, challenging fans across the United States to recover scattered Emeralds before Dr. Eggman could get his hands on them.

Previous physical drops have brought the hunt to different cities with location-specific characters, prizes, and collectibles.

The fourth Emerald drop took place in San Diego during San Diego Comic-Con, where Sonic and Tails appeared alongside the Yellow Emerald. The first 100 visitors received Chaos Hunt shirts, while the first 250 could pick up a Tails and Yellow Emerald enamel pin.

Chicago followed as the fifth stop on August 1, bringing Sonic and Shadow to Maggie Daley Park for the Cyan Emerald drop. That activation once again offered shirts and an exclusive enamel pin, while giving fans their first opportunity to meet an official live Shadow in the United States.

Now the hunt is heading to New York, the same city where the campaign will ultimately culminate with Club Chaos in October.

The New York Blue Emerald Drop takes place Saturday, August 15 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET at The High Line near Gansevoort Plaza, 820 Washington Street, New York, NY 10014.

With the Chaos Hunt nearing its conclusion, another Emerald ready to be recovered, and Club Chaos now less than two months away, Sonic’s 35th anniversary race across the United States is entering its final stretch.
