Sonic’s Fourth Chaos Hunt Emerald Drop Heads to San Diego During SDCC 2026

Sonic’s Chaos Hunt is heading to San Diego for its fourth Chaos Emerald drop during San Diego Comic-Con 2026.

The activation will take place on Saturday, July 25 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM PT in the Gaslamp Quarter, giving convention attendees and local fans another opportunity to join Sonic’s nationwide anniversary campaign.

Fans can find the Emerald drop in the parking lot at Seventh Avenue and Island Avenue, located at 538 Seventh Avenue, San Diego, California. The location is approximately a ten-minute walk from the San Diego Convention Center.

Sonic and Tails will both appear at the activation throughout the day, allowing visitors to meet the characters and take photos.

Several limited giveaways will also be available for early arrivals. The first 100 fans will receive a free Chaos Hunt shirt, while the first 250 will receive an exclusive enamel pin featuring Tails and the Yellow Emerald.

Visitors will be able to scan a QR code at the activation to collect the fourth Emerald digitally and enter for a chance to win the Chaos Hunt grand prize.

The grand prize includes an all-expenses-paid trip to Club Chaos, Sonic’s one-night 35th anniversary celebration taking place in New York City on Friday, October 9.

Fans participating in the San Diego Emerald drop will also have a chance to win an exclusive local prize: a premium Sonic the Hedgehog statue created by French collectible company Leblon Delienne.

Sonic’s Chaos Hunt challenges fans across the United States to locate scattered Emeralds before Dr. Eggman can recover them. Each new drop brings a different physical activation, collectible prizes, and another opportunity to qualify for the Club Chaos grand prize.

Further clues and real-time campaign updates will be shared through the official Chaos Hunt website, Sonic’s social channels, and the optional Sonic Squad SMS service.
