Morio Kishimoto Launches Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition Column and Invites Fan Questions

Sonic Frontiers director Morio Kishimoto has launched a new six-part column tied to the release of Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch 2.

Titled “It’s a Column, but I Want to Talk With Everyone!”, the series will explore the development of Sonic Frontiers through behind-the-scenes stories, previously undisclosed details, and direct conversations with fans.

For its first instalment, Kishimoto is inviting players to submit questions and comments about Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, the original game’s development, his work as a director, or even more casual subjects.

“I don’t want this to be a column where I simply talk at everyone,” Kishimoto explained. “I started this section because I want it to be a place where I can communicate with the fans.”

Kishimoto said he plans to answer the submitted questions with his full effort, using fan messages to explore the world and development of Sonic Frontiers in greater depth.

A dedicated submission form is now available for questions and comments. Kishimoto also suggested that strong support and engagement could lead to the column expanding beyond its currently planned six instalments.

The opening entry also provides a brief overview of Kishimoto’s career. After beginning in arcade game development and contributing to around 20 titles at several companies, he joined Sammy before transferring to Sonic Team following the merger between SEGA and Sammy.

His major Sonic credits include serving as main planner on Sonic and the Secret Rings and Sonic and the Black Knight, followed by director roles on Sonic Colors, Sonic Lost World, Sonic Forces, and Sonic Frontiers.
