Find SONIC! Sonic o Sagase! has officially launched in Japan, giving fans a new way to celebrate Sonic’s 35th anniversary through a colorful search-and-find book supervised by SEGA.

Published by Seitosha, the book brings together famous stages from across 35 years of Sonic the Hedgehog history, starting with the original Sonic the Hedgehog from 1991 and continuing through the latest title, Sonic Rumble Party.

Across 11 Dream Zones, readers can search for familiar Sonic characters and items, count Rings and Chao, and explore detailed illustrated scenes filled with hidden details. The book’s artwork is handled by illustrator and animation creator maribou, whose style focuses on wide, lively worlds and a papercraft-like texture.

The story begins on Sonic’s birthday, when Dr. Eggman causes everyone to be scattered across the Dream Zones. Readers will need to keep up with Sonic’s speed while helping find Tails, Knuckles, and the rest of the cast.

The featured Dream Zones include Green Hill, Metal Harbor, Chao Garden, Bingo Park, City Escape, Sweet Mountain, Cyber Space, Metropolis, Ghost Town, and Starlight Carnival. The book also includes a prologue manga, epilogue manga, and bonus content.

To mark the launch, Seitosha is also running a special campaign tied to reader impressions. Fans who purchase the book and post their thoughts on social media such as X or Instagram, or on online stores such as Amazon or Rakuten Books, can apply to receive a bonus Chemical Plant search-and-find stage as a PDF.

To join the campaign, readers must send the URL or screenshot of their post to [email protected], along with their name, age, and the store where they purchased the book. After confirmation, the Chemical Plant PDF will be sent out within around two weeks. The campaign may end or change without notice.

Participating bookstores across Japan are also offering an original IC card sticker as a limited purchase bonus. The sticker can be placed on an IC card or kept inside a smartphone case, giving fans a small Sonic collectible to carry around.

The release is also part of a special collaboration with Kinokuniya Bookstore, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Eligible Kinokuniya Group stores in Japan will offer a limited full-size book band and a special book cover, excluding a small number of listed locations.

Find SONIC! Sonic o Sagase! is supervised by SEGA, illustrated by maribou, and published by Seitosha. The book is out today, June 17, 2026, and is priced at 1,540 yen including tax. It is a B5-sized 24-page release with the ISBN 9784791635290.
