Seitosha has opened pre-orders for Find SONIC! Sonic o Sagase!, a new official Sonic the Hedgehog search-and-find book created to celebrate the series’ 35th anniversary.
Supervised by SEGA, the book brings together stages inspired by 35 years of Sonic titles, from the original Sonic the Hedgehog released in 1991 to the latest title, Sonic Rumble Party. Across 11 Dream Zones, readers will search for familiar characters and items, count Rings and Chao, and enjoy a variety of hidden details designed for both children and longtime Sonic fans.
The story begins on Sonic’s birthday, when Dr. Eggman causes everyone to be scattered across the Dream Zones. Readers will need to keep up with Sonic’s speed while helping find Tails, Knuckles, and the rest of the cast.
The first stage featured in the book is Green Hill, where readers can search for characters and items across a busy illustrated scene. Other stages include Metal Harbor, Chao Garden, Casino Park, City Escape, Sweet Mountain, Cyber Space, Metropolis, Ghost Town, and Starlight Carnival. The book also includes a prologue manga, epilogue manga, and bonus content.
The illustrations are handled by maribou, an illustrator and animation creator known for artwork that captures wide, expansive worlds and the texture of papercraft. Find SONIC! Sonic o Sagase! marks maribou’s first book project. Their favorite Sonic character is… the Chopper Badnik.
As a limited purchase bonus, participating bookstores across Japan will offer an original IC card sticker with the book. The sticker can be attached to an IC card or placed inside a phone case, giving fans another way to carry Sonic with them. Details on participating stores will be announced at a later date.
A special collaboration with Kinokuniya Bookstore is also planned to celebrate the bookstore chain’s 100th anniversary. Select Kinokuniya Group stores will offer a limited full-size book band and a special book cover featuring newly drawn artwork of Sonic and Tails holding books with Kinokuniya-style covers.
Find SONIC! Sonic o Sagase! will be released on June 17, 2026. The book will be published by Seitosha in B5 format with 24 pages and will be priced at 1,540 yen including tax. Its ISBN is 9784791635290.
