Sonic’s birthday is getting a livestream, and SEGA is bringing a whole crowd along for the party.
SEGA has announced Sonic’s Birthday Livestream, a special 35th anniversary broadcast set for June 23, 2026 at 9:30 AM PDT. The stream will celebrate 35 years of Sonic the Hedgehog with special guests, gameplay, activities, music, and more.
The livestream will be hosted by Jacki Jing, GamesCage, and RogersBase, with a large guest lineup also confirmed. Featured names include MaeMaeTown, KennieAdventure, TreasureHuntingSonic, DawnSR, OkayLandy, Emerldd, Loveretro, Emzberry, JadenBombastic, SamProcrastinates, Sonic_1992, Smirky, Evan Stanley, Izzibell, and Angelica Trae.
The event will stream through Sonic’s official Twitch channel and the Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel.
Alongside the birthday celebration, SEGA will also use the livestream to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, giving fans a chance to hang out with the Sonic community while supporting a good cause.
SEGA also addressed fans hoping for future Sonic updates, noting that the livestream will not cover everything. In other words, fans should probably go in expecting a birthday hangout first and a news showcase second. There may still be fun moments, surprises, and anniversary energy throughout, but SEGA is setting expectations early.
Sonic officially turns 35 on June 23, marking another major milestone for the franchise since the original Sonic the Hedgehog launched on the SEGA Genesis and Mega Drive in 1991. The anniversary year has already included new merchandise, music releases, collaborations, game updates, live events, and community celebrations, and this livestream looks set to bring many of those fans together on Sonic’s actual birthday.
Sonic’s Birthday Livestream airs June 23, 2026 at 9:30 AM PDT.
