There’s finally a clearer timeline for the long-awaited Sonic X Shadow Generations replacement statues! Limited Run Games has confirmed that production is nearing completion, with the redesigned collectibles expected to reach the company before the end of 2026.
In an October 9 production update, Limited Run revealed that the statues are approaching the end of manufacturing and are expected to leave the factory in November. International shipping will follow, with the company anticipating their arrival at its facilities around December.
That doesn’t mean customers will necessarily receive their orders in December. Once the statues arrive, Limited Run will still need to package them with the remaining Collector’s Edition contents before shipping can resume. A specific date for customer deliveries has not been announced.
The update marks another step forward in a replacement process that began earlier this year, after Limited Run apologized for the poor quality of the original Collector’s Edition statue and halted further shipments.
The company subsequently commissioned a completely revised version, working through new prototypes, manufacturing samples and additional reviews with SEGA.
In August, Sonic City reported that the final production sample had reached SEGA of America for inspection. Limited Run’s latest announcement confirms that the project has since progressed into its closing production stages, with attention now turning toward transporting the finished statues.
Customers who previously received the original Collector’s Edition statue are also entitled to a replacement at no additional cost. Limited Run confirmed in an earlier Q&A that those buyers are already accounted for and do not need to submit another request. Customers whose original orders remain unfulfilled will receive their complete Collector’s Edition once the revised statues are ready.
Although the new timeline is encouraging, Limited Run cautions that unexpected circumstances could still affect the schedule. The company also plans to reduce the frequency of production-specific updates over the coming weeks while waiting for manufacturing and international shipping to finish, although its regular Sonic blog posts will continue.
After months of revisions and waiting, the replacement statues are getting closer to reaching collectors. Whether they make it into customers’ hands before the holidays will depend on how smoothly those final stages progress.
