FILA Japan has launched the second wave of its Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration, this time putting Sonic on the tennis court.
Released on September 18 and timed to the Japan Open, the new shirt features Sonic carrying a tennis racket and bursting through the FILA logo. The design trades the first collection’s broader sportswear approach for a clear tennis theme, fitting FILA’s long association with the sport.
The shirt is being sold through SEGA STORE TOKYO, with the collaboration also available through FILA’s pop-up at Tokyo Solamachi.
Sonic’s official Japanese account promoted the second collection when it launched, confirming the new release as the latest addition to FILA’s ongoing collaboration with SEGA.
The new shirt follows the first FILA x Sonic collection released earlier in 2026. Wave 2 keeps Sonic at the centre of the design but gives the collaboration a new direction for the Japan Open, with the racket and FILA branding built directly into the artwork rather than simply placing Sonic on standard sportswear.
It also adds another sports collaboration to Sonic’s 35th anniversary year, with SEGA continuing to put the character into everything from basketball and football to tennis.
