Sonic is getting a bold new Japanese apparel collection for his 35th anniversary.
Karakuri Tamashii, a Japanese fashion brand known for traditional patterns and detailed embroidery, has announced a new collaboration with SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog series. The collection will launch on June 23, 2026, Sonic’s birthday, and brings the Blue Blur into the world of sukajan jackets, Japanese art motifs, and richly detailed stitching.
The lineup includes two sukajan jackets and two T-shirt designs, with each T-shirt available in three colors. Rather than simply placing Sonic artwork on apparel, the collection leans into Karakuri Tamashii’s signature style, combining Sonic imagery with embroidery, reversible jacket construction, and Japanese-inspired visuals.
The main SONIC series features a sukajan based on Sonic’s colors. One side includes detailed Sonic embroidery across the back, while the reverse side features a full sublimation print of Green Hill, one of the most iconic stages in the series. The matching SONIC Tee uses the same graphic style as the jacket and adds an embroidered Sonic logo on the front.
The second line, SONIC IN THE HOKUSAI, takes inspiration from Katsushika Hokusai’s Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. The design imagines Sonic entering the world of Japanese art, blending the franchise’s sense of speed with Karakuri Tamashii’s traditional pattern work. The sukajan features a bold back graphic, while the reverse side uses ink-wash style Sonic artwork. The matching T-shirt carries the same art direction, giving the lineup a stronger Japanese art influence.
All six T-shirt color variations across the SONIC and SONIC IN THE HOKUSAI series also include an original woven label inspired by the Chaos Emeralds, adding a small Sonic detail to the collection’s finishing touches.
The SONIC SUKA JUMPER will be available in black for 32,780 yen including tax, with sizes ranging from S to XXL. An XXXL size will also be available at select retailers for 34,980 yen.
The SONIC Tee will be available in white, black, and blue for 12,980 yen including tax, with sizes from S to XXL. The XXXL size will be available at select retailers for 14,080 yen.
The SONIC IN THE HOKUSAI SUKA JUMPER will be available in gold for 32,780 yen including tax, with sizes from S to XXL. The XXXL size will be available at select retailers for 34,980 yen.

The full collection will be sold at SEGA STORE TOKYO on the 6th floor of Shibuya PARCO, as well as Karakuri Tamashii retailers across Japan. Karakuri Tamashii’s official online store will also carry the full lineup beginning June 23 at 12:00 JST.
With embroidered Sonic artwork, Green Hill lining, Hokusai-inspired visuals, and Chaos Emerald detailing, the collaboration adds another stylish fashion release to Sonic’s growing 35th anniversary lineup.
