Five Sonic characters could be getting matching hoverboard Funko Pops next summer, with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Shadow all appearing on an early Summer 2027 product list alongside a larger Premium Sonic with Emeralds figure.
The lineup comes from Funko news account The Scarlet Joker, which posted its wider Summer 2027 list on October 6 before following it with a dedicated Sonic graphic. The account labels the information as early and subject to change, and neither Funko nor SEGA has announced the figures.
The six products currently listed are Sonic with Hoverboard, Tails with Hoverboard, Knuckles with Hoverboard, Amy with Hoverboard, Shadow with Hoverboard, and Premium Sonic with Emeralds.
There is already an earlier product record backing up at least one name on that list. Wholesale database Palletfly has had a “Funko POP! Games: Sonic – Sonic with Hoverboard” entry on its site since at least August 19, several weeks before this six-figure lineup surfaced. The listing identifies Funko as the brand and includes UPC 889698941143.
Palletfly currently shows an $11 wholesale unit price, but that is not a retail price and should not be taken as an indication of what Funko would eventually charge. The database also carries its own disclaimer warning that its information may contain inaccuracies, so the entry is useful supporting evidence rather than an official product announcement.
The hoverboard idea itself also appears to predate this week’s list. According to the earlier trail around The Scarlet Joker’s posts, “Sonic with Hoverboard” had already been referenced alongside an “Early 2027 Releases” tease in April. The October 6 information expands that into a six-item Sonic lineup and places the wave in Summer 2027.
Despite the obvious association, there is still no confirmation that these are specifically Sonic Riders Funko Pops. The new graphic uses Sonic Riders-style character artwork, while the listed product names simply describe the characters as being “with Hoverboard.” Until Funko packaging, retailer information or an official announcement ties them directly to Sonic Riders, that remains the more accurate description.
The concept would certainly fit existing Sonic merchandise territory. Funko already released Jet the Hawk as a Pop in 2025, and the company’s current Sonic range continues to cover characters well beyond the core cast. Funko’s own store still lists Jet as Pop #1117.
For now, Sonic with Hoverboard has the strongest paper trail thanks to the August wholesale record. The Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Shadow figures, along with Premium Sonic with Emeralds, currently rest on the early Summer 2027 list alone. Exact designs, Pop numbers, retailers, prices, exclusives and a more precise release date have not surfaced.
If the lineup holds, though, Sonic’s Funko shelf is going to need room for quite a few boards next summer.
