Sonic is catching some waves in Okinawa! SEGA has announced a new pop-up shop opening at Okinawa PARCO CITY on October 30, bringing a selection of SEGA STORE merchandise to the island alongside two exclusive Sonic items featuring the Blue Blur with a surfboard.

The SEGA POP-UP SHOP in Okinawa PARCO CITY will run until November 29, marking the first time SEGA has brought this retail concept to Okinawa. Among its biggest attractions is a specially designed Sonic T-shirt priced at ¥5,500, accompanied by a matching sticker available for ¥550, both including tax.

The two designs were created specifically for the Okinawa shop, incorporating the island’s coastal atmosphere into new Sonic artwork. They’ll be joined by additional Okinawa-exclusive merchandise featuring a special SEGA logo inspired by the shisa, the traditional guardian figures associated with the region.

That collection includes several SEGA-logo T-shirt designs priced at ¥4,400 each, along with a two-piece sticker set costing ¥880.

Visitors spending ¥3,300 or more, including tax, will receive an exclusive Okinawa SEGA-logo acrylic keychain as a purchase bonus. The giveaway is limited to one per person per day, while supplies last.

Alongside the location-exclusive merchandise, the pop-up will offer a selection of products normally found at SEGA’s official stores in Tokyo and Osaka.

That includes the SEGA Cooro plush collection, with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Dr. Eggman, Chao, Maria, Super Sonic and Metal Sonic among the available characters. The standard Sonic-series plush toys cost ¥1,800 each, while the Sonic and Shadow variants from the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG × BRITTO collection are priced at ¥2,640 each.

Fans may already recognize the Cooro figures from SEGA’s recent stop-motion shorts. Sonic City covered the latest animation campaign, which began in October to celebrate the opening of SEGA STORE OSAKA.

The SEGA LABBIES plush collection will also be available, including Sonic and Shadow designs that reimagine the characters as teddy bears. These come in two sizes, with the larger plush priced at ¥6,600 and the smaller mascot version at ¥3,850.

The broader selection will include merchandise from Like a Dragon, Persona, Puyo Puyo, Project SEKAI and other SEGA and Atlus franchises, including anniversary collectibles from the Persona series.

SEGA has been expanding its physical retail presence in Japan, beginning with SEGA STORE TOKYO at Shibuya PARCO in July 2025. Its second permanent Japanese location, SEGA STORE OSAKA, opened on October 2, 2026, with its own exclusive Sonic collectibles.

The Okinawa pop-up will be located on the third floor of San-A Urasoe West Coast PARCO CITY, in the Green Zone special event space. Doors will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM JST, between October 30 and November 29.

The surfing Sonic merchandise is exclusive to the Okinawa location, and SEGA warns that individual products may sell out depending on demand.

You can check out the full merchandise lineup and additional product images through SEGA’s official October 16 announcement.
