Sonic’s 35th anniversary celebrations are heading to vending machines across Japan with a new collectible drink campaign.
TAG LIVE LABEL has announced a Sonic the Hedgehog 35th anniversary original label can series, set to be sold through participating Suntory vending machines nationwide from June 16 to July 20, 2026.
Each can will be priced at 900 yen and will contain Lemon Squash. The main draw for Sonic fans is the collectible label, which uses artwork from popular past Sonic titles. There will be 13 label designs in total, distributed at random.
The lineup shown in the promotional images includes label artwork inspired by several major Sonic games from across the franchise’s history, including the original Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Forces, Sonic Frontiers, Sonic x Shadow Generations, and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
The labels are designed as removable stickers, allowing fans to peel them off after drinking and preserve them as collectibles.
The campaign will also include a limited prize element. Some cans may come with a winning marker for an original acrylic keychain. Five acrylic keychain designs are planned in total, with quantities limited.
Sales will begin on June 16, though the exact start time may vary depending on the vending machine. Stock information will be reflected from June 17 onward and will be based on the previous day’s availability. The campaign map will also use black pins for vending machines where stock information has not yet been obtained, which does not necessarily mean those locations are sold out.
With 13 random game-themed labels, removable sticker artwork, and limited acrylic keychain prizes, the Sonic 35th anniversary original label cans give fans in Japan another collectible way to celebrate the Blue Blur’s milestone year.
