Sonic and Hello Kitty teamed up at the Tokyo Toy Show 2025 to reveal a brand-new line of plush toys from the “SONIC & FRIENDS x Sanrio characters” collaboration. The crossover expands on the popular SONIC & FRIENDS animated TikTok shorts, this time dressing Sonic and friends in kigurumi outfits inspired by Sanrio’s most beloved mascots.

The six confirmed pairings are:
- Sonic × Hello Kitty
- Tails × Cinnamoroll
- Amy × My Melody
- Knuckles × Kuromi
- Dr. Eggman × Pompompurin
- Shadow × Hangyodon

The plush line will release in two sizes: medium plushes priced at ¥4,950 (approx. $34 USD / £25 GBP) and smaller ball-chain mascot plushes priced at ¥2,420 (approx. $16 USD / £12 GBP).

An advance sale begins exclusively at the new SEGA STORE TOKYO on October 31, 2025. A wider release across Japan follows on November 7, featuring Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Dr. Eggman. Shadow’s plush will arrive later on December 11.

The collaboration celebrates and promotes Japanese IPs on a global stage, and with SEGA’s strong ties to Sanrio, fans are already speculating that the crossover could extend into Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in the future.
For now, the plushes are the cutest way yet to see Sonic’s world meet Sanrio’s, and they’re sure to be highly sought after by collectors both in Japan and abroad. Import retailers like Meccha Japan are expected to carry stock for international fans.
