1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Sonic City Forums (the “Forum”), you agree to abide by these Terms of Use. Continued use implies acceptance of any updates. We reserve the right to revise these Terms at any time; please review them regularly.
2. Registration Requirements
- Viewing: Browsing public content does not require registration.
- Posting: To post, you must register with a valid email address.
- Activation: You will receive an activation link; posting privileges begin once your account is activated.
- Identity: You may use a pseudonym; only your email address is required, and it will remain confidential.
3. Content Responsibility
All content posted on the Forum is the sole responsibility of the user who submitted it. Sonic City Forums does not endorse the accuracy or validity of user posts and is not liable for user-generated content.
4. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Choose a strong, unique password and do not share it. Multiple accounts used from the same device may be subject to combined sanctions if any account violates these Terms.
5. Privacy & Disclosure
- We will not share your personal information without your consent, except when required by law or to protect the Forum’s integrity.
- In cases of severe or repeated violations, we may disclose your registration details to authorities, your service providers, or affected parties.
Obey these rules to maintain a respectful, safe environment:
6.1 Offensive Content
Do not post discriminatory, harassing, or obscene material. Respect diverse viewpoints; repeated violations may lead to account suspension.
6.2 Flaming (Insults)
Direct insults, name-calling, and threats are prohibited.
- 1st offense: warning and content removal.
- 2nd offense: 3-day suspension.
- 3rd offense: 30-day suspension.
- 4th offense: permanent ban.
6.3 Trolling
Intentionally provoking or baiting users, misleading titles, and posting false information is not allowed.
6.4 Illegal Activities
Requests or distribution of pirated software, copyrighted media, hacking tools, or illicit instructions are strictly prohibited.
6.5 Spamming
Unsolicited advertisements, excessive self-promotion, or repetitive content across threads or messages is forbidden.
6.6 Off-Topic Posts
Stay on topic in each board. Casual or unrelated discussions belong in designated off-topic areas.
6.7 Spoilers
Mark spoilers in titles (e.g., “[SPOILER]”) or use spoiler tags in posts. Do not reveal critical plot details without warning.
6.8 Disruptive Behavior
Avoid large blank posts, forced horizontal scrolling, excessive punctuation or capitalization, and other disruptive formatting.
6.9 Flooding & Raiding
Posting multiple threads or messages in quick succession (flooding) or coordinating mass posts (raiding) is grounds for immediate ban.
6.10 Impersonation
Do not create accounts mimicking other users, staff members, or external identities.
6.11 Harassment & Privacy
Threatening, stalking, or sharing personal information without consent is strictly forbidden.
6.12 Unauthorized Access
Attempting to access another user’s account or private areas of the Forum is prohibited and may result in legal action.
6.13 Usernames & Profiles
Usernames, profile fields, and custom forms must not violate any of these rules. Advertising in these fields is disallowed.
6.14 Signatures & Avatars
Keep signatures and avatars to reasonable file sizes. Excessive bandwidth usage or distracting graphics may be removed.
6.15 Requests for Forum Assets
Do not request the Forum’s source code, custom graphics, or private templates from staff; such requests will be declined.
6.16 Constructive Criticism
Critiques of user-created content (fan art, stories, mods) should be respectful and include suggestions for improvement.
7. Enforcement & Penalties
Violations may result in post removal, warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent bans at the discretion of staff. Reposting removed content or continuing infractions will incur stricter penalties.
8. Moderation Team Responsibilities
Moderators and administrators must uphold these Terms, move or close threads as needed, and treat all members with respect. Abuse of moderator privileges may lead to removal of staff status.
