The grudge match fans have been waiting for has officially arrived. IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog #79 is now available, spotlighting the dramatic confrontation between Whisper the Wolf and the shape-shifting assassin Mimic. Years of buildup come to a head as these former comrades clash on the battlefield, with Tangle and Silver also caught in the middle.
According to the official synopsis, “Only one of these former comrades will walk away.” The stakes are higher than ever as Whisper risks everything to end Mimic’s threat once and for all.
This climactic issue features writing by longtime series veteran Ian Flynn, with interior art by Adam Bryce Thomas and colors by Leonardo Ito de Oliveira. Three covers are available, illustrated by Adam Bryce Thomas, Tyler McGrath, and Nathalie Fourdraine.
