After months of buildup, Sonic Rumble has officially hit its final pre-registration milestone—reaching 1.4 million players signed up ahead of its global launch on May 8. With this milestone cleared, all players will receive a skin based on the movie version of Sonic from Paramount’s film trilogy, joining the growing lineup of unlockable cosmetics.

The final wave of rewards also includes in-game Rings, a new sticker, a Chao buddy, and a Knuckles skin, all available at no additional cost to those who jump in at launch. The milestone was first confirmed on Sonic Channel’s official social media accounts and is now prominently displayed on the game’s website. SEGA had already been teasing this last unlock earlier in the week with a new trailer showcasing the Movie Sonic skin in action.
This news comes just days after SEGA reaffirmed its May 8 global release date and detailed major launch features including character skill loadouts, player crews, and the return of pre-release cosmetics post-launch. You can read more about those updates in our earlier report here.
Sonic Rumble will be available on mobile platforms and Steam, and has already been confirmed to be Steam Deck Verified at launch. With the fanbase continuing to grow and movie tie-ins now joining the mix, it looks like Sonic Rumble is ready to make a serious splash when it drops next month.
