SEGA has announced that Sonic Rumble will officially launch worldwide on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Following its earlier regional testing, the full version of the multiplayer mobile game will arrive packed with new features and gameplay enhancements designed to add more strategy and customization for players.
One of the biggest updates for launch is the addition of unique skills for each character. Players will be able to equip and combine different abilities to suit their playstyle, allowing for more variety and tactical depth during matches. Characters can use multiple skills per round, encouraging experimentation and strategic planning.
The global release will also introduce “crews,” a new system that brings players together to compete as a team. By coordinating with crew members, players can tackle challenges together and unlock rewards, making the game feel more collaborative and community-focused.
Pre-registration is now open on the App Store, Google Play, and Steam. SEGA is offering rewards based on the total number of pre-registrations, with freebies including a Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie-themed skin, various Chao-themed stickers and buddies, and in-game currency. These rewards will be distributed only to players who pre-register ahead of launch.
SEGA is also teasing additional announcements in the coming weeks, including a new creator program where content creators can earn revenue by sharing Sonic Rumble content. More gameplay features and post-launch support are planned, with SEGA aiming to deliver an exciting and long-lasting experience for Sonic fans across mobile and PC.
Players interested in the game can pre-register now or wishlist it on Steam in preparation for its May 8 debut.
