The crossover between DC and Sonic the Hedgehog is escalating quickly. After Darkseid stormed Sonic’s universe in search of the Chaos Emeralds, both the Justice League and Team Sonic teamed up to stop the DC villain from achieving ultimate power. But what began as a fun multiverse meet-up has turned into a last stand—because in DC x Sonic the Hedgehog #2, Darkseid just shattered the balance, and now the Justice League is gone.
Sonic and The Flash previously raced off to retrieve an Emerald, only to run directly into Darkseid. The villain escapes with it, and now both teams are scrambling to find the remaining Chaos Emeralds before he does. A tracking device built by Tails and Cyborg helps locate them, and Batman and Shadow manage to secure one. That’s when Batman realizes Shadow’s Chaos Control may be the key to stopping the crisis altogether.
Unfortunately, Darkseid proves he can use Chaos Control as well. When he powers up his ship with a Chaos Emerald, it causes a catastrophic collapse in space-time. Just before the multiverse is engulfed in white light, the Justice League forces Team Sonic through a Boom Tube to safety—and vanishes in the process.
Team Sonic is now stranded in the DC Universe, and according to Mr. Terrific, the Justice League, Darkseid, and their entire universe are gone.
Of course, this likely isn’t the end. It’s possible Darkseid’s ship and the League were displaced into a dimensional rift. But with the League out of the picture, Earth is unprotected—and Team Sonic may need to step in as their replacements. This could be where the hero-themed suits teased earlier in the series come into play, with Sonic’s crew temporarily filling in for DC’s greatest heroes.
With four issues left in the crossover, there’s still time for Team Sonic to adapt to their new roles, mount a rescue mission, and perhaps even tap into DC’s multiversal tech. Whether that means upgrading Tails’ tracker or racing through the cosmos with the Flash’s Cosmic Treadmill, one thing is certain—this crisis is far from over.
