DC Comics has revealed its September 2026 solicitations, confirming new details for DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #5, the final issue of the latest crossover between SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog and DC Comics.

The fifth issue is scheduled to release on September 2, 2026, and will bring the five-part miniseries to its conclusion. The issue is written by Ian Flynn, with art and Cover A by Pablo M. Collar.

According to DC’s solicitation, the finale sees Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom invading Sonic’s world. With both universes now in danger, Aquaman leads a backup squad made up of heroes from across the two worlds as time runs out to stop the threat.

The issue’s setup also raises the stakes around the mysterious power linking the DC and Sonic universes. That same connection is now on the verge of destroying both worlds, putting Sonic, the Justice League, and their allies in a race against the clock.

Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom have invaded Sonic the Hedgehog’s world! Thankfully, Aquaman is leading a backup squad of heroes from across the two worlds! But can they defeat the villains before it’s too late? Time is ticking down because the very power that links their worlds is on the verge of destroying them both!

DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion has continued the larger DC and SEGA crossover, following the earlier team-up between Sonic’s cast and the Justice League. The series has brought the two worlds back together through mysterious mechanical rings, while building toward a larger conflict involving some of DC’s most dangerous villains.

With Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom stepping directly into Sonic’s world, the finale looks set to push the crossover beyond a simple reunion and into a full-scale multiverse crisis. Aquaman’s role in leading the backup team also suggests the final issue will spread the action across a wider cast before bringing the miniseries to a close.

DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #5 will be priced at $3.99 for the standard edition, with a $4.99 card stock variant cover also planned.
