Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) and SEGA of America have announced an exciting collaboration between DC’s Justice League and Sonic the Hedgehog, set to launch across comic books and consumer products. The partnership was revealed during SEGA’s annual Sonic Central livestream on September 24, 2024, by Ivo Gerscovich, SEGA’s Senior Vice President and Chief Business and Brand Officer for Sonic.

This crossover will begin with a five-issue comic book series written by Ian Flynn, known for his work on the Sonic the Hedgehog comics. Scheduled to debut in March 2025, the series will feature an epic crossover where the Justice League and Team Sonic join forces to combat a major threat to both of their worlds. The series will be published monthly through July 2025.

One of the highlights shared during the livestream was the character redesigns that merge the two franchises. Shadow the Hedgehog is depicted as Batman, Knuckles as Superman, Amy Rose as Wonder Woman, Silver as Green Lantern, Tails as Cyborg, and Sonic fittingly as The Flash. The crossover’s first teaser appeared during Batman Day 2024 (September 21), when a video of Shadow in a Batman suit was shared on both Sonic and DC’s social media channels.

In addition to the comic book series, the collaboration will expand into a wide range of consumer products. This global collection will include apparel, toys, collectibles, and more, with an expected release in late 2025. More details about the product line will be announced at a later date. This crossover promises to be a major event for fans of both Sonic and DC, offering exciting content and merchandise.
