Sonic is racing into the Woobleverse, and this time the goal is not speed. It is crochet.
SEGA and The Woobles have launched the Sonic x The Woobles Collection, marking the first collaboration between Sonic the Hedgehog and the beginner-friendly crochet kit brand. The new lineup lets fans make their own Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Chaos Emerald creations with guided kits designed for different skill levels.
The collection includes three character kits: Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, and Knuckles. There is also a Chaos Emerald Accessory Kit, which comes in one of seven mystery colors. Naturally, even the crochet version of Sonic’s world has to involve a surprise Emerald hunt.
The full Gotta Wooble Fast Bundle is available for $115, discounted from its regular $132 price. It includes the Sonic the Hedgehog Intermediate Crochet Kit, Tails Beginner+ Crochet Kit, Knuckles Beginner+ Crochet Kit, and one Tiny Chaos Emerald Accessory Kit. Each character kit also includes a custom crochet hook.
Fans can also buy each kit separately. Sonic is priced at $45 and is listed as an Intermediate kit, recommended for ages 12 and up. Tails and Knuckles are each priced at $40 and are listed as Beginner+ kits. The Chaos Emerald Accessory Kit is available for $7, though The Woobles notes that accessory kits are not intended to teach complete beginners on their own.
Each character kit includes step-by-step video tutorials, The Woobles’ Easy Peasy Yarn, a pre-started piece, plastic eyes, stuffing, a yarn needle, stitch markers, a PDF crochet pattern, and a 4mm custom crochet hook. Tutorials are available for both right-handed and left-handed Wooblers.
The finished Sonic figure stands at about 4.5 inches tall, while Knuckles measures around 4 inches and Tails comes in at about 4.25 inches, though final size may vary since each one is handmade.
The Woobles has built its brand around making crochet approachable, with the company noting that more than 1 million people have learned through its kits. That makes the Sonic collection a fun fit for fans who want something more hands-on than the usual figure, plush, or apparel release.
Between Sonic’s smirk, Tails’ twin tails, Knuckles’ tiny tough-guy energy, and a mystery Chaos Emerald to complete the set, this is one of the more charming craft drops in Sonic’s 35th anniversary lineup.
