Sonic the Hedgehog #91 is not due in comic shops until October 28, but New York Comic Con attendees will have a chance to pick it up almost three weeks early.
IDW announced its NYCC exclusives on October 6, with Sonic the Hedgehog included alongside Godzilla, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek and several of the publisher’s other series. IDW says the convention items will be available at booth 4551 during the show, which runs from October 8 through October 11.

That gives convention attendees a considerable head start on issue #91, which normally goes on sale October 28. The comic closes the current Silver and Blaze storyline on IDW’s Road to #100, with Blaze under Blackwood the Ermine’s control while Silver and Dapple race through Castle Colossus to stop him.
The issue is written by Evan Stanley, with interior artwork by Adam Bryce Thomas. The regular edition is priced at $4.99, while IDW is separately offering a $20 foil exclusive featuring artwork by Natalie Haines, limited to 500 copies and also officially dated for October 28.
Sonic City previously covered issue #91 when IDW revealed its IDW Goes Dark horror variant, which features artwork by Yamila Kareh. The NYCC release is a separate development, putting the upcoming issue into fans’ hands before its normal comic-shop date.

With NYCC opening on October 8, the earliest attendees could pick up issue #91 20 days before its wider release. Anyone after the convention edition will need to head to IDW booth 4551, with the publisher specifically advertising its NYCC lineup as items available at the booth.
