Sonic is heading back into the wardrobe, and now we finally know exactly what Favorite has been cooking up.
UPDATE, AUGUST 27: Favorite has fully revealed its Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration ahead of pre-orders opening tomorrow, giving Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver and the Werehog their own character-inspired jackets and hoodies. The six-piece collection ranges from a Sonic hoodie with removable sleeves to an unusually elaborate Werehog jacket designed to recreate his oversized arms. Prices run from 24,200 yen to 29,700 yen including tax, with orders scheduled to begin shipping sequentially around mid-January 2027.

Sonic City covered Favorite’s initial teaser yesterday, when the Japanese fashion brand revealed the six characters involved without showing any of the actual clothing. At the time, the inclusion of Silver and especially Sonic’s nighttime transformation from Sonic Unleashed already made this a considerably stranger lineup than your average Sonic apparel drop.
Turns out the Werehog really did have something interesting waiting in the closet.
Sonic leads the collection with a 2-way double-knit hoodie priced at 25,300 yen. Its sleeves attach with zippers, allowing the garment to switch between long and short-sleeved configurations, while the zipper pulls themselves are modeled after Gold Rings. Favorite has also added a large Sonic silhouette across the back and a removable belt around the hem. The hoodie comes in Sonic’s familiar blue and white color scheme.

Tails gets the least conventional silhouette of the group, with a 24,200-yen cape-style hooded jacket designed to be pulled over the wearer rather than worn like a conventional zip-up coat. The hood incorporates his large fox ears, while the cord around the neck carries a tail-inspired print. Favorite describes the material as light and smooth, similar to a mountain parka.

Knuckles’ 25,300-yen hooded jacket leans into his larger arms. Drawcords built into the sleeves can be tightened to create a more exaggerated, voluminous shape, while four front pockets give the design considerably more storage than you would probably expect from clothes inspired by an echidna whose usual inventory consists mainly of his fists. A crescent-shaped marking based on Knuckles’ chest design appears on the front.

Shadow receives a 25,300-yen hooded blouson built around his black, red and yellow color scheme. The hood uses a red lining and raised collar to reference his fur pattern, while a large Shadow silhouette appears across the back. Red faux leather and D-ring details decorate the pockets, with the wider design also incorporating the removable yellow arm belt shown in Favorite’s collection materials.

Silver’s 25,300-yen hooded blouson takes a slightly fluffier approach. Its lined hood includes removable fur trim, while the raised collar and surrounding details are intended to evoke Silver’s white fur. His silhouette is printed across the back, and reflective-looking PVC material is used around the pockets. A drawcord around the hem lets the wearer alter the overall shape.

At 29,700 yen, his Midnight 2-Way Monster Vest Jacket is the most expensive piece in the collection and easily the one that pushes Favorite’s character-inspired approach the furthest. The sleeves can be completely removed to turn the garment into a vest, but keeping them attached reveals the real gimmick: quilted padding inside is used to create the Werehog’s enormous arm silhouette.

The sleeves can also be extended using zippers, while a drawcord at the hem provides another way to alter the shape. Favorite says the outer material was selected to withstand rubbing and scratches, which feels appropriately durable for something based on the version of Sonic that spent most of Sonic Unleashed grabbing enemies and swinging them into nearby architecture.
That design also makes good on one of the more interesting things about Favorite’s collaboration. When the company first teased the collection, there was no guarantee that the six characters would receive anything more elaborate than color-coordinated apparel with some artwork attached. Instead, the finished pieces repeatedly borrow from each character’s physical design, whether that means Tails’ ears, Knuckles’ arms, Shadow’s markings, Silver’s fur or the Werehog’s giant hands.
Favorite’s own catalogue tends to specialize in exactly this kind of character-inspired fashion, translating recognizable traits into the shape and construction of the clothing rather than simply printing a piece of key art onto a shirt. That made the company an interesting match for Sonic when the collaboration was first teased, and the finished collection certainly commits to the idea.
Pre-orders for all six pieces will open through Favorite’s official online store on August 28 at 5:00 PM JST and close on September 28 at 11:59 AM JST. Favorite lists worldwide shipping on its store, and each of the Sonic collaboration items is currently expected to begin shipping sequentially around mid-January 2027.
So yes, less than 24 hours after we wondered what Favorite could possibly do with a Werehog fashion collection, we have our answer.
Make the sleeves enormous.
