SEGA has revealed new gameplay for SONIC PICO PARK, giving fans another look at the upcoming cooperative puzzle action game during Sonic’s 35th Anniversary Birthday Livestream.

The broadcast also confirmed two new playable characters for the game: Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Pico Cat. Both characters will join the previously announced lineup of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy.

SONIC PICO PARK was first announced as a Sonic-licensed crossover with PICO PARK, bringing the series’ chaotic cooperative puzzle design into the world of Sonic the Hedgehog. The game is built around players working together to clear stages, solve challenges, and deal with the kind of multiplayer chaos that PICO PARK is known for.

The new gameplay shown during the livestream gave fans another glimpse at how the Sonic twist will work in action, with the playable cast using teamwork to move through puzzle stages and overcome obstacles together.

Shadow’s addition brings one of Sonic’s most popular characters into the game, while Sonic Pico Cat adds a new mascot-style character tied directly to the PICO PARK side of the crossover. Their inclusion expands the roster beyond the original four-character lineup shown when the game was first revealed.

SONIC PICO PARK is planned to release later this year.
