SEGA of America has teamed up with Console Heroes, a new collectibles brand celebrating retro gaming, to launch The SEGA Circular Challenge — a limited-time throwback campaign reviving the magic of 90s nostalgia.

Running from September 12 to 14, 2025, the event invites fans to download and “clip” a retro-style SEGA flyer, The SEGA Circular, and redeem it at select retro game stores across the U.S. for a free Console Heroes collectible.

Each collectible comes hidden inside a replica SEGA Genesis cartridge, opening to reveal a 3D diorama scene from classic titles like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Altered Beast. Supplies are limited, with one collectible available per customer.

Andrew Yanofsky, co-founder of Console Heroes, shared the inspiration behind the campaign:

“It’s more than a giveaway — it’s a shared memory brought to life. We wanted to bring back that specific moment when you saw a deal in a flyer, circled it, and made your case to your parents. Now, instead of ‘maybe for Christmas,’ fans actually get the thing. For free.”

The campaign also marks Console Heroes’ retail debut, with Wave 1 products arriving at Walmart Canada this August and at Target and Amazon in the U.S. later in September.

How It Works:

  1. Download and print The SEGA Circular flyer (or save it to your phone).
  2. Visit one of the participating stores:
    • Double Jump Games (Vancouver, WA)
    • Secret Castle Toys (Owensboro, KY)
    • Retro Rick’s Gamepoint (Conway, AR)
    • Retro Games Plus (Long Beach, CA)
  3. Trade in your flyer “clipping” for a free collectible.
  4. Share your haul online using #ConsoleHeroes and #SEGACircularChallenge.

Michael Cisneros, Associate Director of SEGA Licensing, described the collaboration as a heartfelt nod to retro fans:

“Our collaboration with Console Heroes is a love letter to gaming’s golden age and the incredible communities that keep it alive. It’s about reviving the magic of being a 90s kid, discovering the next hottest thing in a flyer, and feeling that spark of excitement again.”

The SEGA Circular Challenge runs from September 12–14, 2025.
