Sonic the Hedgehog is heading to the bathhouse for a special 35th anniversary collaboration with the Japanese day-use hot spring chain Yura no Sato and Kirari.

The collaboration event runs from June 8 through June 28, 2026, and brings a range of Sonic-themed activities to participating locations. The main attraction is the “Sonic Blue Bath,” a commemorative collaboration bath inspired by Sonic’s signature blue color and paired with a relaxing cypress scent.

The Sonic Blue Bath will be held on select dates depending on the store, with June 23, Sonic’s birthday, and June 26, Japan’s “Bath Day,” confirmed as all-store event days. Some locations will offer the bath across additional dates during the June 20 to June 28 “Ii Furo Festival” period.
In addition to the themed bath, the collaboration includes a special X follow and quote repost campaign through the official @yurakirari_info account. Fans who take part will be entered into a lottery, with 35 winners set to receive a pair of invitation tickets valid at all Yura no Sato and Kirari locations plus a Sonic collaboration novelty towel. The same campaign also ties into a first-come, first-served in-store gift offer from June 20 to June 28, where visitors can receive one novelty towel and one collaboration sticker by showing their entry screen at reception and completing a questionnaire, while supplies last.

Visitors can also take part in a Sonic AR photo frame event by scanning QR codes installed at the venues. The first version of the frame will be available from June 8 to June 19, with a second version running from June 20 to June 28. The chain has noted that smartphones cannot be used in changing rooms or bath areas.

Another activity planned for the event is a Sonic coloring contest for children. The coloring sheets will be distributed from June 20 to June 28, and completed entries can be brought to Yura no Sato locations for a prize. The exchange period runs through July 20.

Event visuals also show Sonic relaxing in an outdoor bath alongside Chao, with additional panel displays scheduled during the campaign. The collaboration spans 22 Yura no Sato and Kirari locations across Japan, with participating stores spread across Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, and Kanagawa.
The themed bath dates vary by location, though several stores are scheduled to hold the event across multiple days. Fans planning a visit are encouraged to check the official schedule for their nearest location.
With Sonic’s 35th anniversary celebrations continuing across Japan, this latest collaboration offers fans a more relaxing kind of speed, trading loop-de-loops for hot springs, saunas, and a bright blue bath inspired by SEGA’s iconic hedgehog.
