SEGA has officially released the free Puyo Puyo Content Drop for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, bringing Arle into the crossover racing title as a new playable racer.
Arle from the Puyo Puyo series is now available as a free downloadable racer. The energetic mage joins the roster alongside her original machine, Twinkle Bayoen, as well as special emotes, sounds, and new Puyo Puyo music for the in-game Jukebox.

Players who own either the Standard Edition, whether physical or digital, or the Digital Deluxe Edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will automatically receive the free Puyo Puyo Content Drop. SEGA notes that players should update the game to the latest version to download the content properly. An internet connection is also required to claim the add-ons.

SEGA has also released a new trailer introducing Arle in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
Five new songs from Puyo Puyo have been added to the Jukebox as part of the update. These tracks can be selected through the Jukebox and used as race BGM:
- “A Long-awaited Spacetime Journey!”
- “A Long-awaited Spacetime Journey! 【for Final Lap】”
- “A Long-awaited Spacetime Journey! Vocal Version”
- “A Long-awaited Spacetime Journey! Vocal Version 【for Final Lap】”
- “A Long-awaited Spacetime Journey! – ver. PuyoTet 2 -”
To celebrate Arle’s release, SEGA will also hold the Puyo Puyo Festival for a limited time. The event will run from May 28 at 8:00 PM ET through May 31 at 7:59 PM ET, or May 29 at 9:00 AM JST through June 1 at 8:59 AM JST in Japan.

During the Puyo Puyo Festival, players will compete in online races divided between three teams, earning points based on race placements and special festival rules such as Touch Dash challenges. Festival Points can be earned during the event and exchanged for special collaboration rewards, including customization items such as stickers, horns, decals, gadgets, and more.
SEGA notes that gadgets obtainable during the Festival may be distributed again in future live updates, and Festival rewards may also become available through other means later. Players should also note that deleting save data will delete Festival rewards, which cannot be earned again through the same event.

Alongside the Puyo Puyo update, SEGA is also holding an Early Summer Sale on PlayStation Store. Until June 10, the standard version of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available at 40% off through the sale.
The game’s free demo has also been updated with the Extreme Gear machine. The demo lets players try Grand Prix and Time Trial modes, along with machine and gadget customization, and save data can be transferred to the full version. The demo update applies to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store versions.
Arle’s arrival continues Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds’ growing lineup of free crossover content, following previous updates that brought characters, vehicles, music, and limited-time events from other SEGA and partner franchises into the game.
With Arle, Twinkle Bayoen, five Puyo Puyo songs, and the Puyo Puyo Festival now part of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, players have another SEGA crossover to jump into this week.
