The team behind Sonic Rumble has released Developer Letter #2, detailing immediate shop adjustments and previewing the upcoming Version 1.5.0 update.
With Season 4 now live, Legendary Skins have been moved to a new permanent price point. According to the developers, the change reflects community feedback gathered since the first Developer Letter and aligns with the start of the new season. A discounted Skill Star bundle has also been added to the in-game shop, offering players a more accessible way to enhance their loadouts.
The headline announcement is the Version 1.5.0 major update, scheduled to launch on March 16. Ahead of the patch, the team will publish a dedicated update video on March 12, outlining new features, the next Crossover event launching alongside the update, and expanded methods for obtaining Red Star Rings. The addition of new Red Star Ring acquisition paths suggests further adjustments to progression balance.
The letter also confirms the return of NiGHTS-themed content. Previously limited items will be reintroduced through the Red Star Ring Shop and Skin Fragments system, excluding certain special Crossovers. This includes content tied to NiGHTS into Dreams, signaling a broader approach to rotating legacy rewards back into circulation.
Another major reveal is planned for March 16: a brand-new character will arrive in the Red Star Ring Shop. A teaser image was included in the letter, though the character’s identity remains undisclosed, but we have a pretty good hunch that it might be Lanolin from the IDW comics, who has been spotted by several players in the game already. A full reveal is expected closer to the update’s release.
Between pricing adjustments, returning crossover content, additional Red Star Ring opportunities, and a new playable character, Version 1.5.0 is shaping up to be one of the game’s most substantial post-launch updates.
