Sonic Rumble Party is diving into IDW Publishing’s Sonic the Hedgehog comics with a new event inspired by the Clean Sweep Stakes.
The Clean Sweep Stakes Event is now live and will run through August 26, 2026, bringing a new Event Pass, missions, cosmetics, buddies, and several skins based on characters and designs from the comic series.
Players can earn XP through battles to advance the Event Pass, while completing Event Missions provides additional rewards and upgrade materials for Skins and Buddies.
The free Event Pass includes rewards such as the Central City Plate nameplate, Super Sonic icon, and Combat Helicopter RC buddy.
The Premium Pass adds several of the event’s major IDW-themed rewards, including the Gummy Vector skin, Raider Surge skin, Raider Chao buddy, Split Stream effect, and 30 Red Star Rings.
The Red Star Ring Shop has also been updated for the event.
Phantom Rider is available as a limited-time skin through August 26. The character originates from IDW’s Clean Sweep Stakes storyline, making the disguise a particularly fitting addition for the event.
Surge is not the only IDW character getting a racing-inspired look. New packs featuring Raider Tangle, Raider Whisper, and Raider Lanolin have also been added to the shop.
Each pack includes its respective character skin alongside themed cosmetics. The Raider Tangle Pack includes an Extreme Gear Tangle stamp and Raider Tangle background, with similar items included for Whisper and Lanolin.
Unlike Phantom Rider, SEGA says the Raider Tangle, Raider Whisper, and Raider Lanolin packs will remain available after the Clean Sweep Stakes Event ends.
A separate Summer 2026 collection is also currently available in the Red Star Ring Shop.
The seasonal lineup introduces several original swimsuit designs for Sonic Rumble Party, including Summer Knuckles, Summer Jet, Tropical Storm, and Tidal Wave.
These summer skins will only be available until August 14 at 8:00 AM UTC.
The Clean Sweep Stakes Event itself runs from August 5 at 8:00 AM UTC through August 26 at 7:59 AM UTC.
With Phantom Rider and the Diamond Cutters joining Surge in a lineup drawn directly from IDW’s Clean Sweep Stakes, the event marks another substantial expansion of Sonic Rumble Party’s comic-inspired cosmetics.
