Sonic the Hedgehog is heading to Tokyo Dome for a special baseball collaboration with the Yomiuri Giants.

The collaboration will take place during the Giants’ game against the Chiba Lotte Marines on Friday, June 5, with the game scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM. The event will bring Sonic to the stadium through special video segments, character appearances, collaboration visuals, ticket bonuses, and original merchandise.

As part of the latest update, the Giants have announced that a one-day-only Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration video will be shown on the Tokyo Dome main vision screen. Sonic will appear in special video segments between innings, including before Giants batting innings.

Sonic will not be alone at the ballpark. Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles are all scheduled to appear on the field before the game and during several in-game entertainment moments. These include the Sushi Race after the top of the fourth inning, TYO Dance after the bottom of the fifth inning, and Tokon Komete after the top of the seventh inning. The team notes that the featured events may be subject to change.

The collaboration will also extend throughout the venue, with Sonic and Giants collaboration artwork set to appear on digital signage inside the stadium concourse and outside near Gate 22.

The event was first announced in March, with the Giants confirming that Sonic would appear on the field before the match and that collaboration visuals and original merchandise were planned. In April, the team revealed a newly drawn illustration of Sonic wearing a Giants uniform, which will be used for venue displays and related goods.

Special Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration seats are also being offered for the game. These tickets include an original pen case featuring the Giants uniform Sonic artwork, along with Rings and other familiar Sonic series icons. Ticket holders will also be able to take part in a post-game field experience and character greeting.

The collaboration seats are available in two options: Seat B in the reserved B area for 5,500 yen and Seat C in the reserved C area for 3,200 yen. Both prices include tax. Bonus goods can be exchanged on the day of the game at the special booth outside Gate 22, from 30 minutes before gates open until the end of the bottom of the sixth inning.

With Sonic and friends appearing on the field, exclusive video content airing on the main screen, and special artwork displayed around Tokyo Dome, the June 5 Giants collaboration gives Sonic fans in Japan another major real-world event to enjoy during the franchise’s 35th anniversary year.
