Sonic fans will have a chance to catch two of the franchise’s theatrical films on the big screen this summer as part of Regal’s Summer Movie Express program.
Regal has announced that its family-friendly Summer Movie Express lineup will return from June 1 through August 13, 2026, with participating theatres offering PG-rated movies for $1.00 per ticket. Screenings will take place every Monday through Thursday at 11:00 AM local time across more than 380 Regal locations nationwide.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be shown during Week 5 of the program, running from June 29 through July 2, alongside A Minecraft Movie. The following week, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will be featured from July 6 through July 9, paired with How to Train Your Dragon.
The Summer Movie Express program has been offered by Regal since 1991, providing families with a lower-cost way to enjoy movies during the summer. A portion of admission proceeds from the 2026 lineup will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Regal will also offer discounted concessions for Summer Movie Express attendees. Guests who purchase a ticket to an SMX showtime can receive $3.00 off either a Dippin’ Dots ice cream cup or a Snack Pack, which includes a junior-sized drink, popcorn, and fruit gummies.
Advance tickets for Summer Movie Express screenings are now available for $1.00 through Regal theatre box offices, kiosks, the Regal mobile app, and REGmovies.com. Regal Unlimited members can also reserve tickets for Summer Movie Express titles as part of their subscription.
With both Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 included in this year’s schedule, the program gives families and Sonic fans another chance to revisit the film series in theatres at a budget-friendly price.
