It looks like the third installment of the Sonic Movie franchise has indeed wrapped up filming, as the movie’s director, Jeff Fowler, posted on his social media accounts the announcement of the movie ending its shooting phase. This corroborates with James Marsden’s own statement that the movie finished filming two weeks prior to this announcement.

With this announcement, Jeff Fowler posted the following picture of himself holding an oversized clapperboard featuring new artwork by Tyson Hess of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and the highly anticipated debut of the dark and brooding Shadow the Hedgehog!

Jeff himself is also wearing a t-shirt with the tagline “Keep Calm and Jim Carrey On,” featuring Jim Carrey’s Eggman wearing a crown on top.

We still have a ways to go before the movie releases on December 20th this year, but in the meantime, we can look forward to Paramount+’s Knuckles, which releases in three weeks on April 26, to keep our appetites for more Sonic movie goodness satisfied until the eventual Shadow voice actor reveal and story trailer are released.

Stay tuned to Sonic City for more Sonic Movie 3 News and Updates!
