A huge leak has hit the internet ahead of Summer Game Fest, and it looks like Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will not be limited to Sonic’s world after all. Leaked materials shared by insiders showcase crossover content with several major franchises, including Minecraft, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and SpongeBob SquarePants.
Among the leaks is a full render of SpongeBob and Patrick, along with footage showing SpongeBob driving a Krabby Patty-themed kart and using his own Extreme Gear. The kart design closely matches the one seen in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, and the accompanying materials reveal a full Bikini Bottom racetrack featuring familiar locations and objects. According to the leaked video, this content will apparently be part of the game’s DLC.

Minecraft is also represented through Alex, who appears as a racer driving a minecart vehicle. While Steve has not been spotted yet, Alex already appears to be fully developed.

Perhaps the most unexpected addition is Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The leak includes concept art of a previously unseen Aang design which fans speculate might be the one that will be used for the upcoming The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender animated movie releasing in 2026, racing atop his glider, which functions as a hoverboard. There is also a racetrack inspired by the different elemental nations and what appear to be exclusive mechanics based on bending powers from the series.

As previously reported, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will also appear. Although no clear footage has leaked, concept art for their karts and track has surfaced, along with screenshots of the turtles based on the style of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

The leaks also reveal special themed events called “Festivals,” which appear to work similarly to Splatoon’s Splatfests. Players will choose sides in global events to earn points and determine a winning theme.

This content strongly suggests that Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is expanding into a full multiverse racing game. With Paramount owning both the Sonic movie franchise and many of the properties featured in this leak, the crossover possibilities are becoming very clear.
One of the leakers also shared several additional screenshots and details, including a NiGHTS collaboration, an early character select screen, and more Extreme Gear. One board even hints at Whisper the Wolf from the IDW comics being playable, along with a screenshot showing a Super Sonic banner that may indicate Super Sonic is a separate playable character.

All assets appear to be from an internal development build and include models, track previews, and animations. The leaker also revealed that the codenames and working titles for the game were “Union,” “Terra,” and “Sonic Racing: Gate Traveller.”

There is no official word yet on whether these characters will be available at launch or added post-release alongside SpongeBob and Patrick. However, the quality and completeness of the content suggest that most of it is already well into development.
More information is expected during Summer Game Fest on June 6. Until then, this is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious racing games SEGA has ever released.
