SEGA has revealed new details about the speed classes in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, giving fans a better idea of what to expect when it comes to in-game velocity. The game will include four distinct speed tiers: Normal, High Speed, Sonic Speed, and Super Sonic Speed.

Each class brings its own level of intensity, but it’s the top-tier mode—Super Sonic Speed—that’s most exciting. According to the official Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Japanese account, this mode doesn’t just push the speed limit. It also enhances the experience with dynamic camera angles designed to amplify the visual thrill of racing at extreme velocity.

SEGA describes Super Sonic Speed as the most intense option in the game, combining fast-paced action with cinematic flair. This could suggest more immersive or challenging gameplay, with sharper turns, faster reflex demands, and a deeper sense of movement.

The Japanese account also notes that the footage shown so far comes from a development build, and some features may still be adjusted before the final release.

With Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds set to appear at Summer Game Fest on June 6, fans are hopeful for more gameplay footage and possibly even a release date reveal. Whether you’re a casual fan or a speed enthusiast, the upcoming showcase promises to deliver more insights into this high-energy kart racer.
