This new release seems to follow a similar design philosophy.
While no Classic boss has ever been officially named the “Hammer Egg Robot,” one possible inspiration could be the first boss from Sonic Superstars. That enemy doesn’t currently have an official name, but the spinning-arm mechanics and the general silhouette appear to match the description in this listing. Whether that’s the direct reference or not remains unconfirmed, but the timing and functionality certainly make it a strong possibility.
