What if Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were, now bear with me, part of an all girl idol team with Amy. Then tragedy strikes; which causes Sonic to break away from the group to start her own solo career, leaving Tails to carry the weight as the lead singer. Towards the end of the series the two reunite for a tear jerking duet. Do you think it will sell? Nah, me neither.
