Sonic the Hedgehog has made a surprise appearance in the new trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3, released by Paramount Pictures today!
The blue blur can be spotted at approximately 1:47, running through a jungle alongside Chuck, the speedy yellow bird from Angry Birds. It’s a brief cameo, but one that Sonic fans will definitely want to catch.
Sonic and the Angry Birds gang are no strangers to each other. SEGA acquired Rovio Entertainment in 2023, and the two franchises have crossed over several times since, most recently when Red joined Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as a free racer.
SEGA and Rovio are also among the companies producing The Angry Birds Movie 3, alongside Prime Focus Studios and other partners.
The second trailer follows Red as he faces the challenges of fatherhood while trying to save the world. It also features “Sun Showers,” a new song by JISOO, written for the upcoming animated film.
Whether Sonic’s appearance extends beyond this quick moment in the trailer remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a fun surprise for fans of both franchises.
The Angry Birds Movie 3 arrives in theaters on December 23, 2026.
