Sonic Frontiers has received a new update on Steam, with the game’s store page now showing a revised description, a permanent price drop, and a newly discovered hidden package.
The base version of Sonic Frontiers has been reduced from $59.99 to $39.99 on PC, while the Digital Deluxe Edition has also dropped by $20, bringing it down to $49.99. The price change has been confirmed on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, though console digital storefronts currently still list the base game at $59.99.
Alongside the price drop, the Steam page has also received a new description. While the updated text does not appear to reveal any major new content on its own, the timing has drawn attention due to recent signs pointing toward an unannounced Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition.
A new hidden Steam package has also appeared. Based on available listing information, it appears to bundle the Digital Deluxe bonuses and pre-order bonus content, possibly indicating that SEGA may be restructuring the game’s existing Digital Deluxe setup.
This follows the recent rating for Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition by the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea. SEGA has not officially announced the release, and no confirmed details have been shared about what the Definitive Edition may include.
For now, the Steam changes suggest that Sonic Frontiers’ current PC release structure may be shifting ahead of whatever SEGA has planned next. Whether this is tied directly to Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, a new bundle format, or a broader pricing update remains unconfirmed.
Sonic Frontiers originally launched in 2022 and received multiple free content updates throughout 2023, adding new modes, challenges, playable characters, and story content. With the game now seeing new store activity and an unannounced Definitive Edition already rated in Korea, fans may not have to wait much longer to learn what SEGA is preparing.
