Sonic is officially heading back to the arcade.

Basic Fun! has unveiled its first new Arcade1Up home arcade collection following its 2025 acquisition of select Arcade1Up brand assets. Leading the Fall 2026 lineup is the first-ever Sonic the Hedgehog home arcade cabinet, launching as part of the franchise’s 35th anniversary celebrations.

The new cabinet, titled the Sonic Supreme Series Arcade Game, is described as a premium full-size standing unit designed to bring Sonic’s classic arcade-era energy into the home. The release marks the beginning of a multi-year partnership between Basic Fun! and SEGA, with additional Sonic titles planned for the collection in the coming years.

Full technical specifications have not yet been disclosed, but Basic Fun! says the lineup will focus on authentic gameplay, nostalgic cabinet design, and premium features aimed at both longtime fans and newer audiences.

Sonic joins an inaugural wave that also includes new PAC-MAN and Ms. PAC-MAN cabinets, developed under Basic Fun!’s licensing agreement with Bandai Namco Entertainment. However, for Sonic fans, this marks the first dedicated Sonic-branded full-size home arcade cabinet released under the Arcade1Up banner.

The new arcade collection was recently showcased at Toy Fair in New York City from February 14 through February 17, giving media and industry partners an early look at the hardware ahead of its Fall 2026 launch.

With Sonic’s 35th anniversary celebrations continuing throughout 2026, the addition of a premium home arcade cabinet further expands SEGA’s transmedia strategy, blending retro presentation with modern collector appeal.
