SEGA has officially announced a high-profile crossover with Nickelodeon for the upcoming Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, bringing beloved animated characters into the chaos-packed racing experience. The reveal took place during the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards with a brand-new trailer featuring SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star joining the race alongside Sonic and friends.
The trailer showed off the iconic duo speeding through a Bikini Bottom-inspired track in the Patty Wagon vehicle, bringing classic SpongeBob charm into the world of CrossWorlds. As part of the new content, the Digital Deluxe Edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will include the full Nickelodeon-themed Season Pass.
This special Season Pass doesn’t stop at SpongeBob. SEGA confirmed future crossover content from the worlds of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar: The Last Airbender, with more details to be revealed in the coming weeks.
The SpongeBob Pack features:
- Playable racers: SpongeBob and Patrick
- New course: Bikini Bottom
- Themed vehicle: Patty Wagon

The crossover marks another bold step in SEGA’s plan to expand the Sonic universe with fan-favorite franchises. Combined with previously announced Minecraft characters, vehicles, and Sonic Prime content, the Season Pass is shaping up to be a celebration of animated icons.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches September 25 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Cross-platform play will be supported across all versions.
